About Sahuarita Food Bank & Comm. Resrc.Ctr.
Our mission is not only to feed the hungry to meet their immediate needs, but also to break the cycle of poverty. Therefore, we also serve as a community resource center that helps lead individuals and families to self-sufficiency through referrals, workforce development, family support, and health and nutrition programs, with the help of our community partners.
Since 2009, the Sahuarita Food Bank & Community Resource Center (SFB-CRC) has been providing food and other essentials to children, seniors, families and others in Southern Arizona. In 2020, we provided food for up to 500 local families each week.
The Sahuarita Food Bank is an independent and self-governing nonprofit organization led by 100+ dedicated volunteers, including our Board of Directors. Each year, our volunteers contribute more than 22,695 hours of service.
We are supported by financial and in-kind contributions from businesses, faith-based organizations and private donors. Our cooperative and collaborative partnerships with other area food banks—such as the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona and the Green Valley Food Bank—ensure that the needs of the community are being met.
