Members’ Open Exhibit 2021

August 13 @ 5:00 pm - September 26 @ 5:00 pm

TCA’s annual non-juried member’s exhibit opens the new 2021-2022 season with a reception open to the public on Friday, August 13th, 5-7pm. The exhibit presents the artwork of TCA member artists.

IMPRINT – Lauren Steinert

August 13 @ 5:00 pm - September 26 @ 4:30 pm

Imprint is an exhibition of artwork by Lauren Steinert in which printmaking presents the marks and history from the communal printmaking lab at the University of Arizona.
“I attempt to visually translate the stories people have left behind by laboriously tracing the overlapping, historic marks built up on the surface of work tables, stools, and tools. The translated marks are presented in order to question notions of what is ephemeral or ever- lasting.”  Lauren Steinert

Life in the Mountain West
August 13 @ 5:00 pm - September 26 @ 4:30 pm

Vicki and Shannon Conley are a mother-daughter pair of art quilters from the mountains of southern New Mexico.  Their work has a strong sense of place; it is inspired by the outdoors and highlights the vast natural beauty of the mountain west.
The exhibit opens with a reception for the public on Friday, August 13th, 5-7pm.

Visual Conversations Susan Stover and Lisa Pressman
October 1 @ 5:00 pm - November 14 @ 5:00 pm
Master Gallery
Susan Stover and Lisa Pressman want to explore the idea of visual conversations for this show. Even though they work very differently and live on opposite sides of the U.S., they want to respond to each other’s work with an answer in their own work, a call, and response, or a pairing of couples and groupings of works that seem to belong together to tell an abstract narrative.

Harwood Steiger Textiles
October 1 @ 5:00 pm - November 14 @ 5:00 pm
Studio Gallery
In partnership with the Tubac Historical Society, TCA will present the textile art by Harwood Steiger.
The art of textile design radically transformed after World War II as America’s economy boomed and optimism bloomed into a consumer society. In Southern Arizona, artists Harwood and Sophie Steiger were pivotal in this artistic revolution. Incorporating bold dramatic colors and graphic motifs inspired by the plants and animals of the Sonoran desert, mesoamerican graphics, and iconography of the American Southwest.

Plein Air on the Santa Cruz
