Anza Trail Hike at Historic Canoa Ranch
Summary: Explore a 2-to-3-mile section of the Anza Trail during an easy, level interpretive hike. Ages 12 and up.
Description: Learn about the cultural and natural history of the Santa Cruz Valley. Travel on the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail to the area of La Canoa where the expedition to found San Francisco camped after leaving Tubac Presidio in October of 1775.
Dates: Fridays, November 8 and 15

Description: Learn about Colonel Juan Bautista de Anza and the group of Spanish colonial settlers who, in 1775, made their first stop at Canoa Ranch as they began an epic 1200-mile journey from Sonora, New Spain to colonize the port of what is now San Francisco.
Dates: Fridays, November 8 and 15
Fridays, December 13 and 20
Time: 9:30 a.m.- 10:30 a.m.

The event celebrates 20 years of Equine rescue! Twenty years of rescuing equines who have experienced abandonment, abuse, neglect, or loss of their homes through no fault of their own. This work comes at a cost. With monthly expenses of $60,000, this event is very important to continuing the rescue mission. Proceeds from this event will go to providing hay, special feed, supplements, and veterinary expenses.

This race is one of three in the “Orchard Series” which takes runners through the pecan orchards, giving a unique opportunity to see the farm through the seasons.
Leaves are turning yellow, husks are drying out and pecans are ready for harvest. Temperatures can be cool, but extremely suitable for this kind of activity.
