The annual Fourth of July Celebration, Sahuarita Stars & Stripes, will see a change to aerial entertainment this year. For the first time, the event will feature a combined drone and fireworks show with a seamless blend of cutting-edge drone choreography, mounted pyrotechnics, and ground-level pyrotechnic displays. The new age display promises a unique and unforgettable experience for all ages.
“We heard from our community members that we needed to rethink our plan for the aerial display, given the necessary change in location for this annual event,” said Mayor Tom Murphy. “While change is never easy, it is exciting to try out something like this that has the potential to be a truly unique experience for our residents while keeping our fire safety requirements in check.”
This year’s show will feature:
- Drone Display: A mesmerizing aerial performance that will light up the skies near the same location where the Fiesta Sahuarita Drone Show captivates audiences each April.
- Mounted Pyrotechnics: Dynamic firework displays mounted and released by the aerial drones.
- Ground Pyrotechnics: Bursts of color and light launched at the ground level from Anamax Park, designed to complement the drone choreography.
The updated format for this event was presented to and enthusiastically supported by the Sahuarita Town Council in the fall of 2024. This innovative approach ensures compliance with critical fire safety and fall-out zone requirements, addressing the challenges posed by the absence of a suitable location for a traditional firework-only show.
“We are excited to bring this modernized format to the community,” said Devin Stalder, Director of Parks & Recreation in Sahuarita. “This show embodies our commitment to safety, creativity, and providing memorable experiences for our residents and visitors.”
The Sahuarita Stars & Stripes Drone and Fireworks Show reflects the Town’s dedication to embracing new technologies while celebrating cherished traditions. We invite everyone to gather with friends and family to enjoy this spectacular event.

Fleabag – ATC Cinema Series
★★★★★
‘Witty, filthy and supreme.’ Guardian
Written and performed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Killing Eve) and directed by Vicky Jones, Fleabag is a rip-roaring look at some sort of woman living her sort of life. Following a box-office record-breaking run in cinemas in 2019, the one-woman show returns to the big screen this summer.
Fleabag may seem oversexed, emotionally unfiltered, and self-obsessed, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. With family and friendships under strain and a guinea pig café struggling to keep afloat, Fleabag suddenly finds herself with nothing to lose.
The hilarious, award-winning play that inspired the BBC’s hit TV series Fleabag was filmed live on stage in London’s West End in 2019.
Presented by DryWrite, Soho Theatre, and Annapurna Theatre.

42nd Street – ATC Cinema Series
One of Broadway’s most classic and beloved tales, 42nd Street comes to cinema screens in the largest-ever production of the breathtaking musical. The musical, set in 1933, tells the story of Peggy Sawyer, a talented young performer with stars in her eyes who gets her big break on Broadway.
Peggy arrives in New York City from her hometown of Allentown, Pennsylvania, and her talent catches the eye of legendary Broadway director Julian Marsh. She gets a spot in the chorus of the musical-within-the-musical Pretty Lady. Dorothy Brock, the classic Broadway diva and star of the show, takes a disliking to the new girl. When Dorothy is injured, Pretty Lady looks like it will have to close, unless a new girl talented enough to lead the show can be found — someone like Peggy Sawyer!
Filmed in 2018 at London’s Theatre Royal, the production is directed by the original author of the show, Mark Bramble. This eye-watering extravaganza is full of crowd-pleasing tap dances, popular musical theatre standards (“Lullaby of Broadway,” “We’re in the Money” (the gold digger’s song), “42nd Street” and more), and show-stopping ensemble production numbers.
