The Parkinson's Support Group has been active since 1991. We serve people affected by Parkinson's disease in Green Valley and other communities in southern Arizona and in the Santa Cruz Valley. The organization is all-volunteer. There are no paid staff.
Vision: To offer those in the Parkinson's community opportunities to stay as active as possible.
Mission: We strive to raise community awareness, to offer information, and to encourage and stimulate friendships among those with Parkinson's and their families. We encourage members to stay mentally Stimulated, physically Active and socially Connected.
The Support Group offers opportunities for educational activities such as monthly lectures and group sharing meetings. Social activities include weekly coffee times, monthly Meet & Greets, luncheons, caring calls, a monthly newsletter, book club and P.L.A.Y. (Participation and Laughter in the Arts for You). The group also offers a chair exercise program three times a week.

The Marine Corps League Detachment 1126 is dedicated to serving the community and our local veterans. Desert Hills Golf Club is a private club whose mission is to ensure that all our members have an enjoyable recreational and social experience on a quality course all year round with beautiful views of the nearby mountains.
Our members sport a wide range of handicaps, with groups of different skill levels providing weekly activities. While the course is walker friendly, every hole is distinctive with four-hour rounds being the norm.
There is a comfortable lounge where a well-stocked bar also offers hot dogs and other snacks. We do not have a restaurant so there is no minimum food and beverage requirement. However, most of the golf tournaments are followed by potluck, a BBQ or a catered light meal.
